He said private schools taking tax dollars should show academic results in core subjects rather than follow the same rules as public schools.

"Funding isn't the problem," he wrote, citing Mississippi's reading gains; "I'd tie funding directly to results."

Opposes diversity quotas in teacher recruitment.

"North Carolina needs a qualified teaching workforce, not shaped by diversity quotas." He would raise pay for teachers who deliver results in core subjects.

Supports more school counselors focused on clinical needs.

"We need more school counselors and partnerships with actual mental health professionals," he wrote, while opposing "turning schools into therapy centers or ideological training grounds."
