Niemeyer has represented District 7 on the Lake County Council since 2023, the year he was also elected chairman of the Lake County Republican Party. He owns Niemeyer Milk Transfer, a Cedar Lake trucking company, and served on the Cedar Lake Town Council from 2011 to 2022, including ten years as its president.
