Proposal 2026-1: Call a constitutional convention
Shall a convention of elected delegates be convened in 2027 to draft a general revision of the State Constitution for presentation to the state’s voters for their approval or rejection?
Proposal 2026-2: Campaign contributions by utilities and government contractors, and political ad disclosure (initiated law)
The proposal would: • Prohibit regulated electric and gas utilities, contractors with over $250,000 annually in government contracts, and people and organizations with substantial connections to these utilities/contractors from making direct or indirect campaign contributions to those who run for or hold offices that impact them. • Expand laws regulating spending on political communications, including those requiring disclosing donor information, to apply to communications clearly identifying candidates or ballot questions, even if they do not expressly advocate voting for/against them. • Expressly apply the law requiring disclosure of who paid for political communications to internet political communications. Should this proposal be adopted?
Ogemaw County: road millage
Shall the County of Ogemaw be authorized to levy up to 1.000 mill ($1.00 for each $1,000 of taxable value) against all taxable property within Ogemaw County for a period of five (5) years, 2026 to 2030 inclusive, for the sole purpose of funding local and primary road and bridge maintenance and repair in the Townships, the City of West Branch, the City of Rose City, and the Village of Prescott? If approved and levied in full, this millage will raise an estimated $1,238,997 for local and primary road and bridge maintenance and repair in the Townships, the City of West Branch, the City of Rose City, and the Village of Prescott in the first calendar year. The millage revenues will be disbursed to the Ogemaw County Road Commission, the City of West Branch, the City of Rose City, and the Village of Prescott in accordance with State law. If approved and levied, a portion of the millage may also be disbursed, in accordance with State law, to the Downtown Development Authorities of the City of West Branch and the Township of West Branch.
Ogemaw County: children's assessment services millage
Shall the Constitutional limitation upon the total amount of taxes which may be assessed in Ogemaw County, Michigan, be increased by up to 0.05 mills ($0.05 per $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 5 years, 2026 to 2030, inclusive, to provide trauma therapy, medical care, forensic interviews, family advocacy, and prevention services for Ogemaw County residents who have experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse, or neglect? If approved and levied in full, this Millage will raise an estimated $61,949 in the first calendar year of the levy, based on state taxable valuation. If approved and levied, a portion of the millage may also be disbursed, in accordance with State law, to the Downtown Development Authorities of the City of West Branch and the Township of West Branch.
Richland and Logan Townships: fire department millage renewal
Shall the previously voted increase in tax limitation on general ad valorem taxes within the Townships of Richland and Logan imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution reduced by required millage rollbacks to 0.9851 mills ($0.98) per $1000 of taxable value be renewed by 1.0000 mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) for the period of ten (10) years 2028 through 2037 inclusive for the purpose of Fire Department Operations; and shall the Townships levy such renewal in millage for said purpose, thereby raising in the first year the millage is levied an estimated $ 88,728.
