Proposal 2026-1: Call a constitutional convention
Shall a convention of elected delegates be convened in 2027 to draft a general revision of the State Constitution for presentation to the state’s voters for their approval or rejection?
Proposal 2026-2: Campaign contributions by utilities and government contractors, and political ad disclosure (initiated law)
The proposal would: • Prohibit regulated electric and gas utilities, contractors with over $250,000 annually in government contracts, and people and organizations with substantial connections to these utilities/contractors from making direct or indirect campaign contributions to those who run for or hold offices that impact them. • Expand laws regulating spending on political communications, including those requiring disclosing donor information, to apply to communications clearly identifying candidates or ballot questions, even if they do not expressly advocate voting for/against them. • Expressly apply the law requiring disclosure of who paid for political communications to internet political communications. Should this proposal be adopted?
White Pigeon Community Schools sinking fund millage replacement
This proposal will allow the school district to replace the building and site sinking fund millage previously approved by the electors.Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in White Pigeon Community Schools, St. Joseph and Cass Counties, Michigan, be increased by and the board of education be authorized to levy not to exceed 3 mills ($3.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 5 years, 2027 to 2031, inclusive, to replace the previously approved sinking fund millage with a sinking fund millage for the purchase of real estate for sites for, and the construction or repair of, school buildings; for school security improvements; for the acquisition or upgrading of technology; for the acquisition of student transportation vehicles; for the acquisition of parts, supplies, and equipment used for the maintenance of student transportation vehicles; for the acquisition of eligible trucks and vans used to carry parts, equipment, and personnel for or in the maintenance of school buildings; for the acquisition of parts, supplies, and equipment used to maintain such trucks and vans; and for all other purposes authorized by law; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2027 is approximately $1,808,420 (this is a replacement of millage that expires with the 2026 tax levy)?

Nottawa Community School bond proposal ($4.36 million)
Shall Nottawa Community School, St. Joseph County, Michigan, borrow the sum of not to exceed Four Million Three Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars ($4,360,000) and issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds therefor, for the purpose of:erecting, furnishing, and equipping additions to school buildings and the Nottawa Stone School; remodeling, furnishing and refurnishing, and equipping and re-equipping school buildings and the Nottawa Stone School; and preparing, developing, improving, and equipping drop-off areas, driveways, parking lots, playgrounds, and sites? The following is for informational purposes only: The estimated millage that will be levied for the proposed bonds in 2027 is 2.53 mills ($2.53 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation). The maximum number of years the bonds may be outstanding, exclusive of any refunding, is twenty-five (25) years. The estimated simple average annual millage anticipated to be required to retire this bond debt is 1.95 mills ($1.95 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation). (Pursuant to State law, expenditure of bond proceeds must be audited and the proceeds cannot be used for repair or maintenance costs, teacher, administrator or employee salaries, or other operating expenses.)
