The question, as printed on the ballot
Shall inland casino gambling be permitted in Allen County?
A “Yes” vote means
Allows inland casino gambling in Allen County, so the Indiana Gaming Commission can take applications for a casino license there (one license is available among Allen, DeKalb and Steuben counties).
A “No” vote means
The Indiana Gaming Commission may not license an inland casino in Allen County, and this law does not allow the question to be put to Allen County voters a second time.
Official plain English statement
A 2026 state law (House Enrolled Act 1038) lets the Indiana Gaming Commission award one new inland casino license in Allen, DeKalb or Steuben County, but not in a county whose voters reject this question. If Allen County voters approve, the commission will take applications for an Allen County casino, which must commit at least $500 million to the casino and nongaming amenities; if they reject it, the law does not allow a second vote in the county.
On the ballot as "CASINO PUBLIC QUESTION" (Local Public Question). Required by IC 4-33-6-19.5, added by House Enrolled Act 1038 (Public Law 77-2026); DeKalb and Steuben counties vote on the same question.
