The question, as printed on the ballot

Shall the Oregon-Davis School Corporation continue to increase property taxes paid to the school corporation for no more than eight (8) years for the purpose of funding current educational and operational expenses by imposing a property tax rate that does not exceed nineteen cents ($0.19) and results in a maximum annual amount that does not exceed $800,000? If this operating referendum is NOT approved by the voters, for a median residence of $150,000, the property's annual tax bill would decrease by $173 per year. If this operating referendum public question is approved by the voters, it would be renewal of the most recent operating referendum public question passed in 2018 with a property tax rate of twenty-nine cents ($0.29).

A “Yes” vote means

Renews the Oregon-Davis schools operating referendum tax for up to eight years at no more than $0.19 per $100 of assessed value and $800,000 a year, down from the 2018 rate of $0.29.

A “No” vote means

The 2018 referendum tax is not renewed; the ballot estimates the tax bill on a $150,000 median home would fall by $173 a year.

Official plain English statement

Oregon-Davis School Corporation asks voters to renew its 2018 operating referendum property tax for up to eight more years at a lower maximum rate, $0.19 per $100 of assessed value instead of $0.29, raising no more than $800,000 a year. Its spending plan puts the estimated $685,832 a year toward staff compensation, benefits, recruitment and retention.

On the ballot as "REDUCTION AND CONTINUATION OF OREGON-DAVIS SCHOOL CORPORATION OPERATION LEVY" (Local Public Question), for voters in the Oregon-Davis School Corporation (Starke County).
