The question, as printed on the ballot
"Shall the tax limitation imposed under Article IX Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Cheshire Township be increased by up to 3.0 mills ($3.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) and shall Cheshire Township levy such increase in millage on all taxable real and personal property in Cheshire Township for 5 (five) years in 2026-2030 inclusive for distribution to Cheshire Township and the Allegan County Road Commission for the purpose of maintaining/preserving or improving/reconstructing existing public local roads in Cheshire Township, including but not limited to upgrading existing aggregate surface roads to hard surface roads, thereby raising in the first year of such levy an estimated $ 308,085"
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote approves a property tax of up to 3 mills for 2026–2030 to maintain and improve Cheshire Township's local public roads, including paving gravel roads.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the road millage.
