The question, as printed on the ballot
This proposal requests additional millage to permit the continued levy by the intermediate school district of the maximum mills for special education previously approved by the electors.Shall the limitation on the annual property tax rate for the education of students with a disability in Allegan Area Educational Service Agency, Michigan, be increased by 0.1699 mill ($0.1699 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 8 years, 2027 to 2034, inclusive (this increase will allow the intermediate school district to levy the maximum rate of 3.05 mills previously approved by the electors that has been reduced as required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963); the estimate of the revenue the intermediate school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2027 is approximately $13,703,962 from local property taxes authorized herein?
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote adds 0.1699 mill for 2027–2034 so the agency can again levy the full 3.05 mills voters approved for special education, restoring a constitutional rollback.
A “No” vote means
A no vote keeps the special education levy at its reduced rate.
