The question, as printed on the ballot

Shall the limitations on the amount of taxes which shall be assessed against all property both real and personal in Alpena County, Michigan be continued as provided in Section 6, Article IX of the Michigan Constitution, and the Alpena County Board of Commissioners be authorized to levy a tax not to exceed 0.21 (21/100) mill ($0.21 on each $1,000.00 of Equalized State Taxable Value) for a period of four (4) years starting with the levy made December 1, 2026 for the purpose of providing funds to equip, operate, maintain and provide support and assistance services to Veterans through the Alpena County Department of Veterans Affairs (the estimate of revenue the County of Alpena will collect if the millage is approved and levied in the first year (2026) is ($274,291.27).

A “Yes” vote means

A yes vote renews a 0.21-mill property tax for four years, starting with the December 2026 levy, for the Alpena County Department of Veterans Affairs.

A “No” vote means

A no vote rejects the renewal.
