A proposal to amend the Benton Harbor City Charter to establish a Benton Harbor Health Equality Committee appointed by the City Commission to address health care affordability and access. The Committee would gather public testimony from the community; analyze data; review how federal, state, and local policies have affected healthcare affordability and access; and produce a biennial Healthcare Action Plan. The Healthcare Action Plan would evaluate changes in health insurance and benefit coverage, track actions of federal and state officials, and recommend solutions. The City Commission would adopt and publish a Healthcare Action Plan. Shall this proposal be adopted?
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote amends the city charter to create a Health Equality Committee on healthcare affordability and access and require a biennial Healthcare Action Plan.
A “No” vote means
A no vote leaves the city charter unchanged.
