The question, as printed on the ballot

In support of the continued operation of the Village of Michiana, Berrien County, Michigan, Police, Fire & Ambulance service and continued operating expenses and equipment for Emergency Services including Police, Fire & Ambulance service, shall the Village levy 1 (one) mill which is equal to $1.00 (One Dollar) for each $1,000.00 (One Thousand Dollars) of real and personal property subject to taxation, which equals a renewal of the current millage rate of .8803 mills ($0.8803 per $1,000 of real and personal property subject to taxation) plus an increase of .1197 mills ($0.1197 per $1,000 of real and personal property subject to taxation). Said millage will be used for emergency services equipment and general operating expenses for emergency services. Said millage, if approved by the electors of the Village of Michiana, will be levied for a period of 6 (six) years, starting in 2027 and ending in 2032. It is estimated that the levy will generate approximately $112,784.20 in the first year.

A “Yes” vote means

A yes vote sets a 1-mill levy for six years (2027–2032) for police, fire and ambulance services, renewing 0.8803 mill and adding 0.1197 mill.

A “No” vote means

A no vote rejects the emergency services millage.
