The question, as printed on the ballot
Shall the 1 mill tax limitation on general ad valorem tax within Surrey Township imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution be increased for said Township by 1 mill ($1.00 per $1,000.00 taxable value) for the period of 10 years, from 2027 through 2037 inclusive for the purpose of road improvements, construction and brining to the Township; and shall the Township levy such additional new millage for said purposes; thereby raising in the first year an estimated $132,000 and a similar amount in subsequent years.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote approves a new tax of 1 mill for 10 years (2027–2037) for road improvements, construction and brining, about $132,000 in the first year.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the new road millage.
