The question, as printed on the ballot
Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Port Austin Township be renewed at 1.50 mills ($1.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) for the period of 2026 through 2035 inclusive for township road repairs, road maintenance, tree trimming and street light installation, operation and repair, and shall the Township levy such renewal in millage for said purpose, thereby raising in the first year an estimated $200,000.00.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote renews a 1.5-mill township tax for 2026–2035 for road repair and maintenance, tree trimming and street lights.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the renewal.
