Shall a “Headlee Override” be adopted so that the current limitations on the amount of Village taxes that may be levied against all taxable property in the Village of Pigeon, Huron County, Michigan be increased as follows:Up to 12.500 mills ($12.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) from approximately 12.500 mills ($12.50 per $1000 of taxable value) for ten years, 2027 to 2037 inclusive for general operating expenses,Up to 5.000 mills ($5.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) from approximately 5.000 mills ($5.00 per $1000 of taxable value) for ten (10) years, 2027 to 2037 inclusive for Street Repairs and Improvement, andUp to 1.500 mills ($1.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) from approximately 1.500 mills ($1.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) for ten (10) years, 2027 to 2037 inclusive for Water Fund Debt?If approved and levied in its entirely, this millage would raise and estimated maximum amount of $0.00 for the Village in 2027 by allowing the Village to levy the maximum mills previously approved by voters and authorized by the Village Charter and the State Law which have been reduced as required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963.

A “Yes” vote means

A yes vote lets the village levy up to 12.5 mills for operations, 5 mills for streets and 1.5 mills for water debt for 2027–2037, overriding Headlee rollbacks.

A “No” vote means

A no vote keeps the current, rolled-back limits.
