The question, as printed on the ballot
Shall Section 9.5, Chapter IX, of the City of Walker Charter be amended to authorize a new additional millage of 1.75 mills ($1.75 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) to be levied solely for providing funds for capital and operating expenses for police and fire for a period of ten (10) years from 2027 to 2036? (If levied, the additional 1.75 mills are estimated to raise $3,065,105 in the first year of the levy. To the extent required by law, a portion of the revenues from this millage will be disbursed to the City's Brownfield Redevelopment and Downtown Development Authorities.)
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote amends the Walker city charter to allow a new 1.75-mill property tax for 2027–2036 for police and fire capital and operating costs.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the new public safety millage.
