The question, as printed on the ballot
For the purpose of raising funds to be used exclusively to provide police protection within the City of Memphis, located in St. Clair and Macomb counties, shall the Constitutional limitation upon the total amount of taxes which may be assessed in one year upon all taxable property located in the City be increased by up to 2.86550 mills ($2.86550 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of six years from, 2027 through 2032, inclusive? If approved and levied in full, this millage will raise approximately $99,192.00 in its first year which by law can only be used to provide police protection within the City.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote lets the City of Memphis levy up to 2.8655 mills for 2027–2032, to be used only for police protection in the city.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the police protection millage.
