Should Section 5.10 of the Charter be amended to require that the City Manager reside within a 20-mile radius of the City, to align the Charter with current Michigan law? Statement of Purpose: This amendment will bring the residency requirement into compliance with current state law, while still requiring the manager to reside close to the city.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote requires Ishpeming's city manager to live within 20 miles of the city, to align the charter with state law.
A “No” vote means
A no vote keeps the current charter residency wording.
