The question, as printed on the ballot
Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in Powell Township, Marquette County, Michigan, be increased and levied at 1.00 mills ($1.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) upon expiration of the current garbage collection millage for a period of 3 years, from 2027 to 2029, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for continued township household garbage collection, Powell Township Transfer Station operations, recycling and related waste disposal services? If approved and levied in full, this millage will raise an estimated $128,798 in the first year of levy.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote lets Powell Township levy 1 mill for 2027–2029 for household garbage collection, the transfer station and recycling, after the current levy expires.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the millage.
