The question, as printed on the ballot
Shall the Charter Township of Lyon, Oakland County, Michigan, be authorized to levy annually a new additional millage in an amount not to exceed 1.1 mills ($1.10 per each $1,000 of taxable value), against all taxable property in the Township for a period of ten (10) years, 2026 through 2035, inclusive, to provide funds for operating, maintaining, supporting, supplying, and equipping the Lyon Township Public Library and for all other library purposes authorized by law? The estimate of the revenue the Township will collect if the millage is approved and levied in the first year of levy (2026) is approximately $2,560,000. The revenue from this millage levy will be disbursed to the Lyon Township Public Library.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote approves a new tax of up to 1.1 mills for 10 years, 2026 through 2035, for the Lyon Township Public Library.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the new tax.
