The question, as printed on the ballot
Shall the increased limitation on the amount of taxes which may be imposed on taxable property in City of Royal Oak of Two Tenths (0.20) of a mill per year be renewed for five (5) years, 2027 to 2031, inclusive, for the sole purpose of providing funding for services, activities, and programs for “older persons” pursuant to the authority provided by Act 39 of PA 1976, specifically MCL 400.576? This levy constitutes a renewal of authority to levy a millage which expires with the 2026 levy. If approved, it is estimated that 0.20 mill would raise approximately $835,664 when first levied in 2027.Shall the proposal be adopted?
