The question, as printed on the ballot
Shall the City of Evart, Osceola County, be authorized to levy a millage annually in an amount not to exceed 2.0 mills ($2.00 per each $1,000 of taxable value), of which 1.8422 mills is a renewal of the previously authorized millage that expired in 2025 and .1578 mill is new additional millage, for six (6) years, 2026 through 2031, inclusive, to provide funds for operating, equipping, constructing, and purchasing for the Evart Area Joint Fire Department or for any other purpose authorized by law for fire service purposes? The estimate of the revenue the City will collect in the first year of levy (2026) if the millage is approved is approximately $95,500. A portion of the revenue collected may be subject to capture by the City of Evart Downtown Development Authority.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote lets the city levy up to 2.0 mills for 6 years (2026-2031), renewing 1.8422 mills and adding 0.1578 mill, for the Evart Area Joint Fire Department.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the fire tax.
