“Shall Hartwick Township restore its general taxing capacity previously established at 1.0 mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) by MCL 211.211(4) which was reduced to 0.7301 ($0.7301 per $1,000 of taxable value) by Headlee Amendment rollbacks, through an additional millage of 0.2699 mills ($0.2699 per $1,000 of taxable value) to restore, and not to exceed, the full 1.0 mill limit established by law, each year beginning in 2026 inclusively, for duration of five (5) years, for general township operating purposes? it is established that the additional millage of 0.2699 mills will raise $ 11,491 in the first year of the levy, which is perpetual, subject to future reductions by the Headlee amendment.”
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote adds 0.2699 mill to restore the township's general operating tax to the full 1.0 mill for 5 years, beginning in 2026.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the restoration.
