The question, as printed on the ballot

Shall the tax limitation on general ad valorem taxes within Presque Isle County imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution be renewed and shall Presque Isle County be authorized to levy up to .20 mills ($0.20 cents on each $1,000.00 of taxable valuation) for a period of four (4) years, being calendar years 2026 through 2029, inclusive, for the purpose of the acquisition, operation, maintenance, and administration of the system of solid waste management program of Presque Isle County? If fully levied, this measure would generate approximately $203,599.00 in revenue the first year. Note: If approved and levied, in accordance with State of Michigan Law, a portion of this millage collected on cerain properties lying within established Downtown Development Districts will be captured by or disbursed to the Downtown Development Authorities of the cities of Rogers City and Onaway for authorized purposes. The amount of such capture is estimated to be $430.00 in the first year of the levy.
