The question, as printed on the ballot
Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against taxable property in Speaker Township be increased by 2.0000 mills ($2.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of six (6) years, 2027 through 2032, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for fire protection, including the purchase, replacement, maintenance, and improvement of fire trucks, fire apparatus, large equipment, air packs, and other equipment and facilities necessary to provide fire protection services, raising an estimated $110,000 in the first year if levied? This proposal is for a new additional millage.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote lets Speaker Township levy a new 2-mill tax for 2027–2032 for fire trucks, equipment and facilities.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the new fire protection millage.
