Shall the City of Marine City levy a new tax of up to 2.5 mills ($2.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) on all taxable property within the City for the sole purpose of providing, operating, maintaining, equipping, and improving public safety, fire protection services, including fire suppression, emergency response, personnel, apparatus, equipment, facilities, training, and related operational expenses, as authorized by Michigan Public Act 33 of 1951 for a period not to exceed three (3) years, being 2026, 2027 and 2028. Raising $366,642 in the first year of the levy?
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote lets Marine City levy a new tax of up to 2.5 mills for 2026–2028 for fire protection and related public safety services.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the new fire protection millage.
