The question, as printed on the ballot
Shall the City of Gibraltar, County of Wayne, Michigan, be authorized to levy a new additional millage in an amount not to exceed 3.5 mills ($3.50 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) on all taxable real and personal property in the City, for a period of five (5) years, 2027 through 2031, inclusive, for the purpose of funding police, fire, and emergency (public safety) services, including related personnel, benefits, equipment, apparatus, and capital replacement? If approved and levied in full, this millage is estimated to raise approximately $672,281.68 for the City in the first calendar year of the levy (2027). A portion of the revenue collected may be captured by and disbursed to the City of Gibraltar Downtown Development Authority.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote approves a new tax of up to 3.5 mills for five years (2027–2031) to fund police, fire and emergency services.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the new public safety millage.
