Local sales and use tax at the rate of one-quarter percent (0.25%) in addition to all other State and local sales and use taxes.
A “Yes” vote means
Adds a one-quarter percent county sales tax, raising Dare's rate from 6.75% to 7% on taxable purchases; groceries, gasoline, prescription medicines and vehicles are exempt.
A “No” vote means
No added county sales tax; Dare County's sales tax rate stays at 6.75%.
Called by the Board of Commissioners in Resolution 26-03-03, adopted March 2, 2026, as an advisory referendum under G.S. 105-537. The county says the revenue would pay for the Parks & Recreation improvements in its 2025–2035 plan.
