The question, as printed on the ballot
To permit the sale of mixed beverages in hotels, restaurants, private clubs, community theatres, and convention centers and the "on-premises" and "off-premises" sale of malt beverages and unfortified wine in qualified establishments.
A “Yes” vote means
Permits mixed drinks in hotels, restaurants, private clubs, community theatres and convention centers, plus on- and off-premises beer and unfortified wine sales in qualified establishments countywide.
A “No” vote means
Keeps current law where Jones County voters have not already approved mixed beverages: selling liquor by the drink stays prohibited there.
The Jones County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution on July 13, 2026 requesting this election. Per the county, it covers the unincorporated areas and any town whose voters have not already authorized mixed beverages (Maysville voters approved them in 2024); Pollocksville also votes on its own town question.
