Official plain English statement

“Section 21-5(A) of the Dumont Borough Code currently prohibits parking on Borough streets between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from October 15 through April 15 each year. This public question is advisory only and is intended to determine voter sentiment regarding whether this seasonal overnight parking restriction should remain in effect. The results of this vote are non-binding upon the Mayor and Council. A vote of “YES” would indicate to the Mayor and Council that you are in favor of keeping the current ordinance, and in favor of prohibiting parking on Borough streets from October 15th through April 15th between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. A vote of “NO” would indicate to the Mayor and Council that you are not in favor of the current ordinance and in favor of changing the ordinance to allow for overnight parking on Borough streets from October 15th through April 15th between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.” Your vote will influence, but not bind the Borough of Dumont Mayor and Council to the majority vote.
