Official plain English statement
This referendum would authorize the continuation of the Township of Wyckoff Municipal Open Space Trust Fund through the collection of an annual tax levy in an amount not to exceed $0.01 (1 cent) per $100 of assessed valuation. The proceeds of the Trust Fund may be used for open space acquisition and preservation, recreational and conservation purposes, farmland preservation, historic preservation, Blue Acres projects, and related debt service costs. The Trust Fund has been utilized by the Township to preserve and maintain open space, parks, athletic fields, recreational facilities, and historic properties, including the Zabriskie House and the Larkin House. The Township currently preserves and maintains approximately 152.04 acres of open space, including the approximately 21.04-acre former Maple Lake property acquired during the last five years.
