Proposal Number One, A Proposition Cato Town Board Resolved To Change Employee Benefits Shall Local Law 1 of 2026 of the Town of Cato, entitled " A Local Law Repealing Chapter 17, Article II of the Code of the Town of Cato" be approved, thereby repealing an existing law concerning the provision of health insurance benefits to employees and officers of the Town of Cato. The purpose of the same Local Law is to remove ambiguous language from the Code of the Town of Cato and allow the Town to implement standardized health insurance policy for its employees and officers by resolution.
A “Yes” vote means
Local Law 1 of 2026 takes effect, repealing the town code article on health insurance for town employees and officers; the town board would set that policy by resolution.
A “No” vote means
Local Law 1 of 2026 is not approved, and the existing town code article on health insurance for town employees and officers stays in place.
