Shall the Town of Middlefield change the office of the Highway Superintendent from an elected position to an appointed position effective January 1, 2027?

A “Yes” vote means

A yes vote makes Middlefield's highway superintendent a position appointed by the town board, starting January 1, 2027.

A “No” vote means

A no vote keeps the Middlefield highway superintendent an elected office.

Official plain English statement

Under this proposition, a "Yes" vote means that as of January 1, 2027, the office of Middlefield Highway Superintendent will be appointed by the Middlefield Town Board. A "No" vote means that the office of Highway Superintendent will remain an elected position.
