The question, as printed on the ballot
A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Geneva Township (excluding the City of Geneva and Village of Geneva on the Lake) for the purpose of providing and maintaining fire services that the county auditor estimates will collect $102,066 annually, at a rate not exceeding 1.49 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $39 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s market value, for 5 years, commencing in 2027, first due in calendar year 2028.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote renews a 1.49-mill, 5-year property tax for fire services in Geneva Township outside Geneva city and Geneva-on-the-Lake.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the renewal levy.
