Issue 39: Sheffield Township additional levy for fire and EMS

An additional tax for the benefit of Sheffield Township for providing and maintaining fire apparatus, appliances, buildings or sites, sources of water supply and materials, the establishment and maintenance of fire alarm lines, payment of volunteers, part-time or permanent firefighters or firefighting companies, emergency medical services, administrative or communications personnel to operate the same, including the payment of any employer contributions required for such personnel under section 145.48 or 742.34 of the Ohio Revised Code, or the purchase of ambulance equipment, or the provision of ambulance, paramedic or emergency medical services operated by a fire department or fire company that the county auditor estimates will collect $202,729 annually, at a rate not exceeding 4.5 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $158 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s market value, for 5 years, commencing in 2027, first due in calendar year 2028.
