A majority affirmative vote is necessary for passage. A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Salem City for the purpose of recreational purposes that the county auditor estimates will collect $235,982 annually, at a rate not exceeding 1.3 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $19 for each $100,000 of the county auditor's market value, for 5 years, commencing in 2027, first due in calendar year 2028.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote renews a 1.3-mill, 5-year property tax (about $235,982 a year) for Salem recreation.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the renewal levy.
Salem City lies in Columbiana and Mahoning counties; the same question appears on the Mahoning County ballot for part of Green Township precinct 2.
