The question, as printed on the ballot
Shall Article IV of the Charter of the Village of Brooklyn Heights be amended to provide that effective April 1, 2030, the Office of the Clerk/Treasurer shall change from an elected position to one appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation from the Council; and to remove the qualification that the Clerk/Treasurer shall be a resident and qualified elector of the Village; and to remove the duty that the Clerk/Treasurer shall work in the office within the Village Hall for at least thirty (30) hours a week?
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote makes the Clerk/Treasurer a Mayor-appointed, Council-confirmed position from April 1, 2030 and removes its residency and hours-in-office requirements.
A “No” vote means
A no vote leaves the charter unchanged.
