The question, as printed on the ballot

Shall Article III, Section 3 of the Charter of the City of Independence be amended to provide that the Mayor shall attend all meetings of the Council, and remove the requirement that the Mayor preside over all meetings of the Council?

A “Yes” vote means

A yes vote requires the Mayor to attend all Council meetings and removes the requirement that the Mayor preside over them.

A “No” vote means

A no vote leaves the charter unchanged.
