The question, as printed on the ballot

Shall Article IV, Section 5(a) of the Charter of the City of Independence be amended to provide that, commencing January 1, 2027, the appointment of three (3) citizen members of the Planning Commission be changed from the Mayor to a majority of the members elected to Council?

A “Yes” vote means

A yes vote moves the appointment of three citizen Planning Commission members from the Mayor to a majority of Council, starting January 1, 2027.

A “No” vote means

A no vote leaves the charter unchanged.
