The question, as printed on the ballot
Shall Section 7.5 of the Third Amended Charter of the City of Lakewood be amended to clarify that amendments to the Charter may be submitted to the registered voters of the city in three manners: upon the recommendation of a two-thirds majority vote of the members of the Charter Review Commission and submission by Council to a vote of the people; by an affirmative vote of Council of at least two-thirds of councilmembers; or upon receipt of a petition signed by not less than ten percent (10%) of the registered voters of the city?
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote clarifies the three ways charter amendments go to voters: Charter Review Commission recommendation, a two-thirds Council vote, or a petition of 10% of voters.
A “No” vote means
A no vote leaves the charter unchanged.
