A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Harrison County for the purpose of Police Protection, including the payment of salaries for police personnel, providing, upgrading and maintaining equipment by the Sheriff's Office that the county auditor estimates will collect $1,165,943 annually, at a rate not exceeding 1 mill for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $35 for each $100,000 of the county auditor's market value, for 5 years, commencing in 2027, first due in calendar year 2028.

A “Yes” vote means

A yes vote renews a 1-mill, 5-year county property tax (about $1.17 million a year) for Sheriff's Office police salaries and equipment.

A “No” vote means

A no vote rejects the renewal levy.
