The question, as printed on the ballot
A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Jefferson County for the purpose of providing funds for the operation of the county 9-1-1 system, that the county auditor estimates will collect $2,482,785 annually, at a rate not exceeding 1.5 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $35 for each $100,000 of the county auditor's market value, for 5 years, commencing in 2027, first due in calendar year 2028.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote renews a 1.5-mill, 5-year county property tax (about $2.48 million a year) to operate the county 9-1-1 system.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the renewal levy.
