The question, as printed on the ballot
A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Salem Township for the purpose of fire protection, that the county auditor estimates will collect $195,021 annually, at a rate not exceeding 1.5 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $43 for each $100,000 of the county auditor's market value, for 5 years, commencing in 2027, first due in calendar year 2028.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote renews a 1.5-mill, 5-year property tax (about $195,021 a year) for fire protection in Salem Township.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the renewal levy.
