The question, as printed on the ballot
A renewal of a tax for the benefit of the Village of Chesapeake, for the purpose of providing and maintaining police protection that the county auditor estimates will collect $22,512 annually, at a rate not exceeding 1.5 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $35 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s market value, for five years, commencing in 2027 first due in calendar year 2028.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote renews a 1.5-mill, 5-year property tax for Village of Chesapeake police protection, estimated to collect $22,512 a year.
A “No” vote means
A no vote rejects the renewal levy.
