Issue 21: City of Maumee charter amendment on officials called to military service

Shall Article XIII, Section 5 of the Charter of the City of Maumee be amended as follows? SECTION 5 MILITARY SERVICE If a person holding an elective office in the Municipality shall be called to perform their military service duty in the uniformed services as provided by Federal law or State law during their elective term, their office shall not become vacant. In the event the service member is absent for more than ninety (90) days or provides notice that they will be absent for more than ninety (90) days from their elected position due to military service, City Council may appoint a temporary replacement for that elected official, with full voting rights as provided by the Charter, to serve only during the period of such absence.
