Article VIII, Section 3 - NOMINATING PROCEDURE Shall Article VIII, Section 3 of the Charter of Oregon be amended as follows: (a) Nominations for elective office of the municipality shall be made only by petition filed with the election authorities ninety (90) days prior to the date of holding the primary election. (b) The name of any qualified elector of the city shall be placed upon the election ballot for nomination as a candidate for any elective office of the municipality when there shall have been filed with the election authorities signed by not less than fifty (50) nor more than one hundred (100) electors of the city. (c) The nominating petition shall contain a statement of candidacy, which shall designate a committee to represent the candidate. Both the nominating petition and statement of candidacy shall be substantially in the form prescribed by the State of Ohio for nominating petitions generally, and shall be signed, circulated and filed in accordance with the provisions of the Ohio Revised Code?

A “Yes” vote means

A yes vote requires nominating petitions 90 days before the primary, signed by 50 to 100 electors, on state forms with a statement of candidacy.

A “No” vote means

A no vote keeps Article VIII, Section 3 as it is.
