The question, as printed on the ballot
Chapter I, Section 6 to be amended to remove outdated language and updating definition of employee to include members of the unclassified service. Chapter IV, Section 33 to be amended to allow City Council to determine the conditions of employment for its officers and employees, including matters such as hiring, discipline, and termination. Chapter VIII, Section 171 to be amended to designate that City Council officers and employees are members of the unclassified service. Shall the proposed amendments to the Charter of the City of Toledo, as set forth in Ordinance 302-26, be adopted?
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote lets City Council set hiring, discipline and termination for its own officers and employees and places them in the unclassified service.
A “No” vote means
A no vote keeps Charter Sections 6, 33 and 171 as they are.
