The question, as printed on the ballot

A renewal of 2 mills and an increase of 0.3 mill for each $1 of taxable value to constitute a tax for the benefit of the Stark County Library District for the purpose of current expenses that the county auditor estimates will collect $14,949,218 annually, at a rate not exceeding 2.3 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $55 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s market value, for 8 years, commencing in 2027, first due in calendar year 2028.

A “Yes” vote means

A yes vote renews a 2-mill library tax and adds 0.3 mill (2.3 mills total, about $14.9 million a year) for Stark County Library District current expenses for 8 years.

A “No” vote means

A no vote rejects the renewal and increase.

The library district reaches into Stark, Carroll, Portage and Summit counties; it is not on the ballot in every Stark precinct (Alliance, Louisville, Canal Fulton and parts of Massillon, North Canton and several townships vote on other library levies or none).
