Shall Article 2, Section 204 of the Home Rule Charter of the Borough of Braddock be amended to provide that Borough Council members shall receive compensation on a per-meeting basis based on their attendance at twelve (12) regularly scheduled annual Borough Council meetings subject to excused absences?

A “Yes” vote means

Amends Charter Section 204 so Council members are paid per meeting, based on attendance at the 12 regularly scheduled meetings, with some absences excused.

A “No” vote means

Section 204 is not amended; Borough Council members continue to receive payment regardless of their attendance.

Official plain English statement

The proposed change to Braddock’s Home Rule Charter would require that Borough Council members attend the 12 regularly scheduled monthly council meetings in order to receive a monthly payment for their service. The ordinance states that some absences may be excused but does not specify what constitutes a valid excuse. Council members currently receive payment regardless of their attendance.
