Should the City of Carbondale Home Rule Charter be amended: (a) to allow the Mayor, when employed as Managing Director, to be exempt from Section C9-2B (regarding a leave of absence during the campaigning for office) in order to carry out the duties of the office of Managing Director; (b) to correct the use of pronouns to a general form in the text?

A “Yes” vote means

Lets a Mayor who serves as Managing Director keep doing that job while campaigning (exempt from Section C9-2B's leave of absence), and changes masculine pronouns in the charter to general ones.

A “No” vote means

Leaves the City of Carbondale Home Rule Charter unchanged.

A. Should the section dealing with Managing Director, of the City of Carbondale Home Rule Charter be Amended to allow the Mayor, performing the duties of the Managing Director position as approved by Council, to not be bound by Section C9-2B of the Home Rule Charter. Specifically relating to leave of absence during the campaigning for office. This would allow the Mayor to carry out their duties of the office of Managing Director while campaigning for office. B. The masculine pronouns would be changed to a general pronoun.
