Shall the County of Lancaster establish a dedicated Library tax to provide for the maintenance of, and aid to, public Libraries in Lancaster County at the rate of .55 mills on the dollar on all taxable real estate within the County of Lancaster?

A “Yes” vote means

Lancaster County would establish a dedicated library tax of .55 mills on all taxable real estate in the county, for the maintenance of and aid to public libraries in the county.

A “No” vote means

Lancaster County would not establish the dedicated .55-mill library tax.

Printed as a "Countywide Referendum" on all 241 precinct specimen ballots (in English and Spanish). It reached the ballot by citizen petition: LNP reports the "Vote Yes 4 Libraries" campaign filed 7,282 signatures on Sept. 4, 2026, with 4,612 valid signatures needed. No Plain English Statement was found on the county's election pages or the specimen ballots as of 2026-09-26, so none is given here; add it if the county publishes one. LNP also reports that because 2026 is a county reassessment year, it was unsettled whether the rate would be adjusted to stay revenue-neutral (about .31 mills on preliminary data) or remain .55 mills.
